Christopher Ziebell, MD FACEP
Executive Director

Dr. Ziebell, executive director, has been a leader in the Seton Family of Hospitals for more than a decade; as a medical director, department chair, Seton board member, chief of staff of several Seton hospitals and President of the Medical Staff. He also is on the Board of Directors of the Seton/UT Southwestern Physician Group, which employs all of the academic faculty.

Truman J. Milling Jr., MD FACEP
Director of Medical Research

Dr. Milling, director of medical research, serves on the editorial board of Annals of Emergency Medicine, the specialty’s premiere journal. He is a published expert in many facets of emergency medicine and has years of experience in NIH and Industry clinical trials. He also serves as director of clinical research for the emergency departments at University Medical Center at Brackenridge and Dell Children’s Medical Center, and lectures locally, nationally and internationally.

Micheal Spohn, MD
Regional Research Director - Bryan, TX

Dr Spohn is a board-certified Emergency Physician who serves as Emergency Department Research Director for St Joseph Regional Health Center, a 70,000 annual visit ED in Bryan-College Station, Texas. His interests include emergency department efficiencies, snakebite envenomations, emergency ultrasound use, and mass casualty responses.

Robert Weston, MD
Associate Director of Medical Research

Dr. Weston serves as the associate medical director of HPCR. He began his career in emergency medicine after working with Deloitte Consulting in their health care and state government sectors and is currently an attending physician at the University Medical Center at Brackenridge and Dell Children's Medical Center. Having been an investigator in several clinical trials, Dr. Weston's research interests are wide-ranging, but include emergency cardiology, infectious disease, and health care policy and economics.

John Bedolla, MD
Assistant Director of Medical Research

Dr. Bedolla, Assistant Director of Medical Research, is a published expert in emergency medicine and has served as a peer review expert at the state level. He serves as chief of staff of a major hospital and consults at the state level.

Coburn Allen, MD
Pediatric Medical Director

Dr. Allen trained and practiced for the last 20 years at Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston, he has developed interest in clinical research in an emergency center setting. His research tends to focus on the acute diagnosis and management of common pediatric ailments. He has been the principal investigator for multiple trials, some of which have led to new therapies and practices.
